ASU 2014-09 Revenue from Contracts with Customers (Topic 606) comes into effect this year for public entities and next year for all other non-public organizations.
Scott Ehrlich will discuss:
- ASU 2014-09 Revenue from Contracts with Customers (Topic 606) and how it affects everyone, public and non-public entities.
- Effective dates for Non-public entities – fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2018.
- How the standard applies to all customer contracts for revenue recognition with only a few exceptions.
- It’s complicated and will require time and effort to understand and implement.
The standard was developed to provide a single approach for revenue recognition regardless of industry or type of business.
